SLAPSHOTZ has Roller Hockey leagues running for fall, winter, spring and summer. These leagues are for both youth and adults. There are several divisions for all people. For the youth, we offer Recreational and Competitive, High School and Travel. For Adults, we have Men's Competitive, Men's Recreational, Women's Recreational, and Coed recreational hockey. Youth Recreational Hockey at SLAPSHOTZ has as its cornerstone the belief that playersshould be taught good sportsmanshop and teamwork. The league is geared toward players with beginner and intermediate skill levels. Teams will play four on four plus goalies, and rosters will be limited to 13 players.Games are played on Sunday afternoons and are played with a puck. Teams are adjusted from session to session in an attempt to provide a fair and evenly matched game.
This league is designed for players seeking to improve their playing ability and for whom hockey is more than a pasttime. Teams will be formed or may enter as a team. Subject to age restrictions, these teams will remain together throughout their career at SLAPSHOTZ. Games are played four on four with a puck. Games are played on Saturday afternoons. Sportsmanship and teamwork are stressed, as well as physical conditioning and athletic ability.No checking is permitted.
This program has been created to allow High School players to form teams representing their high schools.Players must attend the school the team represents. This league will play on Thursday evenings. Teams play four on four with a puck. No checking is permitted.
Travel hockey at SLAPSHOTZ is developed to provide a mechanism for our best, interested players to test their abilities against those of other regional hockey players of the same age. Players are currently competing against teams from Loudoun, Prince William, Ashburn, Manassas, and Centerville. Games are played Saturday mornings, four on four with a puck. No checking is permitted.
Competitive Roller Hockey provides an avenue for men and women to continue building their skills and to maintain their fitness in a facility designed for roller hockey. Play is four on four with a puck and games are played on Tuesday nights.No checking is permitted.
This league is open to any male over 25 years old or beginners (Select females will be allowed to play...see management).The league is designed to provide a fun, safe environment to enjoy a fantastic, aerobic sport in a relaxed game environment.Sportsmanship and friendly competition are encouraged. Games are played four on four with a puck. Games are held on Thursday nights.
This program is designed for women 16 years of age and older (special waiver required if under 18). It providesfriendly competition and game instruction. Players of all ablilities are welcome. Games are played four on four on Tuesday nights and are played with a puck.
The following equipment is required in all leagues:
A hockey helmet, hockey or lacrosse gloves, elbow pads, knee and shin pads, skates with no expossed or protruding bolts.
Men's and Women's Recreational Leagues: all of the above.
All Youth Leagues (and youth playing in adult leagues): all of the above including full face shield and an internal mouthguard.
Highly Recommended Equipment: Cup or pelvic protector, neck protection, full facial protection, shoulder pads and hockey pants.
