Morning Music Workshops

White Mountains Jazz &Blues Festival  
 

 
Join us the morning of the festivalfor Morning Music Workshops. These up close, interactive rap sessionswill be hosted by headline performers who will be appearing later in theday on the festival's mainstage.  Brazilian jazz master SergioBrandao  and electric blues man Michael Hill will hostjazz and blues sessions in the College for Lifelong Learning's newly renovatedclassrooms.     

According to  JAZZ TIMES, "SergioBrandao leads a nine piece group of authentic  musicians on a contemporaryexploration of Brazilian musical styles."      
Blending the virtuosity of modernjazz with the musical roots of Brazil,  Rio-born Brandao has orchestrateda paean to his homeland's rhythmic  diversity and spiritual fire.     
    
Michael Hill brings raw sweat,energy and intensity to every song he plays. Michael Hill's Blues Mob blazes a modern blues trail filled with cutting edge tunes and foot stompingrhythms. "Hill is truly the bluesman piloting the music into the next century,"proclaimed BLUES REVUE.  "The future of electric blues" echoed LIVINGBLUES.   

These two diverse artist are alsoeducators. They each have an enthusiasm for teaching their music and willshare their  musical styles, song writing and performance techniques.  This is a great opportunity to get close to contemporary music as it isbeing played today.

These sessions begin at 10:00AM and are open to everyone. The College is located in walking distanceto the Festival, in Conway Village. Admission is free.
