A Poetic Touch for Any Occasion
Sandy M. Haft is diversifying by versifying. By day, he is a mild mannered marketing professor at Nasaau Community College. But, at home, after midnight, he becomes The Rhymer, creator of personalized poetry for weddings, anniveraries, birthdays, bar mitzvahs -- even marriage proposals.
Last summer, the 35 year old Holbrook man turned his poetic penchant into an unusual business called Custom Creations. After you complete his questionnaire, "we Custom Create what you indicate", says Haft, who sometimes speaks in rhyme. (Technically, he writes in quatrains, although he can also whip up limericks, sonnets and blank verse.)
After the client approves the poem, it is then set, in color, in an artistic framework on the computer, and then offered to the client at a cost of between $55 and $75 dollars, dependent on the complexity.
