HERBST FBI provides you with an incredibly easy way of sortingand organising data. It is very similar to a Personal Organiser.
Key in any information in to FBI and it will record andorganise that data for you.
Information is kept in areas called Files. Files are organisedin to Topics and Sub-topics. Topics are stored in areas called Databases.
This hierarchical structure provides a fast and efficient wayof locating and organising information.
Adding Files and Topics is easy. Simply press the INSERTkey and give it a name. Then simply enter in the information you wishto record. Its that easy. Alternatively ask FBI to import datafrom another program or another area of FBI.
Accessing information is made even easier using a"search" facility, which will search for any fragmentof information that you provide and will list all Files of datacontaining that fragment.
Very soon you will end up with an in-expendable knowledgebase.
Typically you could have a database called Phone Book.Within this database you can have as many topics as sub-topics as necessary.
Within these topics you can have files storing the phonenumber, fax number, the name of the contact you deal with as wellas a record of any dealings you had with the person, keeping alog of the phone calls, content quotations, orders etc. or eventhe letters you have sent.
When you make a phone call to Mick Murphy you pick the SearchKey and type Mick and the FBI program will show you all fileswhere Mick is mentioned, then you pick the file required andaccess all the information you have regarding that person. Youcan then log details of your dealings with him. You dial Micktaking note of the main points discussed to update your database.

PRODUCT DATABASE where you store prices and productinformation in different files under different topics.
SALES DATABASE could record all sales leads andhold progress information. Everybody can have access to the information,therefore the excuse " Sorry nobody is in, can he ringyou back....... " can be made redundant. Instead, Personnelin the office will now be able to say " Mr. Sales is notin ...are you phoning about the quotation you got on the 21st ofmay for our excellent package..? ".
ASSET DATABASE would have a file for each asset under therelevant topics - for example: Office Assets... Serial numbers ofmachines, Dates of Purchase and records of all repairs, phonenumbers and service personnel.
Similarly with other assets such as Motor assets..... Factoryassets.... etc. access to all information required isinstant, which is invaluable when it comes to making managementdecisions.
MAILBOX DATABASE would have topics belonging to eachemployee. When you want to leave a message or give some informationto an employee simply enter their topic area and create a filewith the information. When the file is read it can either befiled in to a more organised area or can be deleted.
PROGRAM ORGANISER. You can run programs from within FBI. AFile can become a DOS Batch file that FBI will execute. Thismeans you can imbed programs amongst your data within the topicsor use it as a sophisticated Hard Disk Menu.
Ways in which FBI can be used for both business and personaluse are endless. All data can be output to aprinter.
DATE ACTIVATED NOTEPAD
You can set-up FBI so that it will pop-up a message for you whena certain date has been reached. This means FBI not only becomesthe organiser of your data it also reminds you of appointments,engagements and any other piece of information and becomes youcomplete personal organiser.
