Okay. So I got busy.
I said that I would provide a recap of events that happened in my life last week. Unfortunately, I was deluged with tasks that were utmost in my list of priorities. Hence, I was unable to promise my faithful readers (if there are any at all) the recap that I promised I would give. Much has happened during the days since I came home and they are listed as follows:
- Cleaned out my room and disposed a host of useless junk that I haven't used or seen for years. After cleaning out my room, I was finally able to store the things that I brought home from Edmonton. However, I still have 2 bags of clothes and 3 boxes of food and books stored in my mother's friend's place.
- Ordered new contacts lenses.
- Ordered 1 extra ticket for Mike to the Faculty of Arts Convocation Lunch at the Coast Plaza Inn in Edmonton. Students only receive 2 complimentary tickets that are usually reserved for their parents.
- Received convocation information in the mail. Now that I know the date and the time for gown pickup, we will be driving to Edmonton on June 9. Ceremony will be held in the Pavilion in the Butterdome.
- Applied to library schools at UBC, U of A and McGill before I returned home. Will be sending applications to SJSU and Western in June. My first choice is UBC and my safety school is SJSU (largest library school in North America so it's relatively easy to get in). Tuition is surprisingly inexpensive even for non-residents (I have dual citizenship so I'm counted as out-of-state), but rent is expensive. If I go to SJSU, rent will actually account for an overwhelming majority of my educational costs.
- Currently looking for both paid and unpaid work while I wait for word from the grad schools I applied to. Yana Parker's The Damn Good Resume Guide: A Crash Course in Resume Writing, 4th ed. provides good tips and samples, but the cover letter tips and samples are useless.
- Watched The Phantom of the Opera (2004) and The Incredibles on DVD. Loved both movies.
I have been entertaining the idea of switching to another blog service provider, but we'll see.

Thanks for getting me a ticket, Cat!
I hope you get into the grad schools you applied to. =D
I haven't seen Phantom of the Opera yet. I'm glad you liked the Incredibles =)
You're welcome, Mike! =)
The Phantom of the Opera didn't receive good reviews, but I thought it was a great movie. Aside from the costumes and the music, I thought it had a good storyline that succeeds in drawing sympathy for the Phantom (Eric) among the audience although I read somewhere that in the original French novel, Gaston Leroux paints him as something that is less than human.
